A short summary of the company history so far:
The company started in 1926 as a small business for electrics with speciality shop in the heart of Nuremberg. Already in the late 1920s Georg Sauernheimer installed the first illuminated signs and letters- then it was still a technique with incandescent lamps.
After World War II he started systematically to build up luminous advertising as a new division of his company. From 1955 on high voltage neon tubes were manufactured and the company established itself as specialist for illuminated advertising all over Germany.
1995 a new concept for illuminated advertising was developed in-house, and since then Sauernheimer is the sole contractor offering fibreLOGO®. For this environmentally sound and also low-maintenance fibre optical technique Sauernheimer was awarded the Bavarian National Prize in 1997. In 2000 they were decorated with the "QuH", given by the chamber of Trade and the Bavarian national trade institution and are since then forming part in the "Quality circle of environmentally conscious handicraft enterprises".
